Experience the bright, fresh flavors of Southeast Asia in the HKS Kitchen with Chef Becky Miller in this hands-on cooking class designed to balance sweet, savory, tangy, and herbaceous notes in every bite. The evening will begin with a rich and flavorful appetizer, Roasted Sweet Potatoes drizzled in a Zesty Peanut Butter Sauce with the perfect hint of spice. For the main course, you’ll build Lemongrass Salmon Vermicelli Bowls by learning to cook and layering tender noodles, crisp vegetables, and fragrant herbs. Then Chef Becky will instruct you how to create a classic Nuoc Cham Sauce packed with a blend of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors that ties the vermicelli bowl together. For a refreshing side, you’ll make a Cucumber and Radish Salad that adds crunch and brightness to the spread. And you’ll finish the evening with a chef-made Tropical Refresher to round out this deliciously flavor-packed meal. Note this class is gluten-free and dairy-free but not nut free. Recipes will be provided. Tickets are priced per person.

MEET THE CHEF

While traveling around the world, Becky Miller developed a passion for food that is delicious, nutritious, and sustainable. Her goal became to share the importance of food with others and to build connections between our food, the planet, and our health. Becky now works for the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank as the nutrition education coordinator helping people across the region develop the skills and knowledge to make healthy (and delicious) choices and helping people build confidence and life skills. Her passion is making food to fuel a full life without ever sacrificing flavor.
