Master the art of the pan sauce in the HKS Kitchen with Chef Seth Barber in this hands-on cooking class focused on transforming flavorful pan drippings into restaurant-worthy sauces. The evening will start with Chef’s elegant Whipped Boursin and Pickled Pear Crostini appetizer. Then, you’ll dive into the techniques behind creating and preparing a  Seared and Roasted Airline Chicken after it’s soaked up the flavor from a Dill Pickle-Inspired Brine. Next, you’ll learn how to maximize the flavor by using the fond left in the pan to create a classic Sauce Charcutière from start to finish. To complete the meal, you'll make crisp Roasted Brussels Sprouts and enjoy a Curated Wine Pairing from The Wine Shop at Honeycomb. Learn how to build layers of flavor, balance acidity, and finish sauces with confidence—all while creating a delicious meal from start to finish. Recipes will be provided. Tickets are priced per person.

MEET THE CHEFS

Chef Seth's classes draw inspiration from NWA's diverse food culture. With an associate degree in culinary arts from Brightwater: A Center for the Study of Food and degrees in agricultural sciences as well as liberal arts, he focuses on making cooking enjoyable and accessible.

Seth emphasizes the connection between what we cook and the community around us, cultivating a renewed appreciation for ingredients sourced close to home and the farmers who cultivate them. Join him to discover how to create delicious meals that taste good and encourage a stronger connection to the regional food community.

Beyond his passion for food, Seth is a devoted husband, sharing his life and love with his wife Emma.
