Need a summer treat? Join us for an evening escapade in the HKS Kitchen as Chef Helen Lampkin shows you how to cook up a festive menu inspired by sunny island and coastal cuisine. Your evening will begin with chef’s Classic Guacamole served with warm Corn Tortilla Chips and a refreshing Frozen Piña Colada. Once you’re settled in, it’s time to roll up your sleeves and make Flour Tortillas from Scratch. In addition, you’ll create two complementary dishes – Pineapple Mango Salsa and a crisp Poblano Green Cabbage Slaw. Both pair deliciously with the Braised Pork chef will be bringing to transform your freshly made tortillas into tasty tacos. To finish on a sweet note, you’ll get a taste of Chef’s luscious Coconut Cake with silky Cream Cheese Frosting. If you’re looking to build confidence in the kitchen while enjoying bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and a fun, relaxed atmosphere, this is the class for you. Recipes included. MEET THE CHEF:
Helen Lampkin, woman of faith, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, lives an inspired “no ordinary” life based on the words found in Colossians 3:23 – “do all things wholeheartedly to the Lord.” This inspiration is at the heart of all she does and has led her to become an entrepreneur (founder of My Brother’s Salsa), artist, adventurous cook, recipe developer/writer, food stylist, and blogger.
