Come join Chef Maudie Schmitt in the HKS Kitchen as she teaches you how to jazz up a delicious feast with some of her favorite Cajun fixin's! Upon arrival, you'll enjoy an appetizer of Chef Maudie's Shrimp and Eggplant Dressing. Then, you'll get Chef Maudie's step-by-step instruction during the hands-on portion of the class as you learn to make several classic Cajun side dishes – Cajun Oyster Stuffing, Creole Dirty Rice, and Jalapeño Corn Puddin'. Come learn about Cajun ingredients and seasonings so you can recreate these authentic NOLA dishes and add great pops of flavor to dishes in your very own kitchens. Tickets are priced per person. Recipes will be provided.

MEET THE CHEF:
Born and raised in New Orleans, Chef Maudie Schmitt has an extensive restaurant heritage and learned to cook from the many great chefs in her own lively family. She taught special education for 23 years until deciding to open a restaurant. Cafe Rue Orleans opened in 2001 and has been blessed with much success in the NWA area. Chef Maudie previously competed on Food Network's Supermarket Stakeout where she was a runner up!
