Step into the HKS Kitchen with Chef Katie Helams for a delightful cooking experience featuring classic English fare as it captures the cozy charm of the British countryside. The evening kicks off with Chef Katie’s refreshing Chilled Pea and Mint Soup with Goat Cheese Crostini. For the hands-on portion of the class, you’ll learn to make a savory main course of golden Cornish Pasty filled with the comforting and filling flavors of beef, potatoes, onion, and rutabaga. Then you’ll make a vibrant Roasted Beet and Carrot Salad that adds a touch of seasonal color. And you’ll whip up a light and luscious Lemon Fool for dessert. This hands-on class celebrates the warmth, simplicity, and timeless appeal of British-inspired cooking while giving you delicious new dishes and techniques to take home. Recipes will be provided. Tickets are priced per person.

MEET THE CHEF:

Katie Helams, owner of Grow NWA, is a UK native who has over 20 years’ experience in the culinary field. After completing her training in the UK she came to Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri, as a culinary intern. After that, she worked in the UK and Asia to further her culinary knowledge. Since moving to NWA with her family she has turned her hand to indoor farming. She currently owns and operates a small microgreens farm in Bentonville and gets immense joy in sharing them with others. This allows her to stay connected to her culinary roots.
