with Shaan Choppala, founder of Cajindian Cuisine
Skip the trip to New Orleans. Make plans to visit the HKS Kitchen instead where Chef Shaan Choppala will be bringing the flavors of Louisiana to plates near you. The best part? You’ll leave the kitchen with the skills you need to keep making these Cajun dishes again and again. To whet your appetite, you’ll start the evening with savory beef and pork meat pies. Then you’ll learn how to transform the ingredients placed before you into several dishes, including sides of creamy, buttery Maque choux, a traditional Louisiana dish featuring stewed corn, peppers, onions, and other ingredients and a crisp, tangy coleslaw to complement the main attraction – flavorful jambalaya. To finish the evening, you’ll be served a chef-prepared bread pudding, a sweet treat to round out the menu that’s rich, satisfying, and full of authentic Cajun flair. Recipes will be provided. Tickets are priced per person.
*All class ticket sales are final. No refunds or credit transfers to other classes are available. If you purchase a ticket and are unable to attend, please contact us to check our waitlist.*
MEET THE CHEF:
My name is Shaan Choppala, I’m the founder of Cajindian Cuisine. I grew up eating homemade South Indian curry, and I started my business to make it possible for anyone to experience authentic Indian food at home. My sauce has 15 spices and herbs, is gluten free, and has the right balance of heat. I can’t wait to share this experience with you!
