Cooking for a Cause: The Sunshine School and Development Center – October 9th

$ 100.00

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2026 | 6:30 PM

with Chef Maudie Schmitt of Cafe Rue Orleans

Cooking for a Cause: At Honeycomb Kitchen Shop, we believe food has the power to bring people together—and to make a real difference. That’s why we’re proud to offer special cooking classes throughout the year in support of our friends and neighbors where 20% of all ticket sales plus 20% of all in-store and online retail sales on the day of these classes will be donated to a local charity or organization doing remarkable things and making a meaningful impact right here in our community.

This class will benefit The Sunshine School and Development Center, an organization that has been serving the Northwest Arkansas Community for more than 65 years, building an accessible foundation to help all people with disabilities reach their full life potential. This organization's mission is focused on shattering limitations to enable people touched by disability, serving their unique journey through advocacy, therapy, and education.

Ready to let the good times roll and support a great cause? Chef Maudie Schmitt is, and she’s heading into the HKS Kitchen with a classic Southern menu packed to the brim with the rich flavors of Louisiana. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a steamy and creamy cup of Chef’s Crawfish & Corn Bisque. Then you’ll get to work creating a savory Crab Meat Stuffing and decadent creamy Tasso Seafood Sauce, essential elements for topping the evening’s main course, Catfish Tchoupitoulas. To end the evening on a sweet note that captures the indulgent spirit of New Orleans cuisine, Chef Maudie will treat you to her luscious White Chocolate Bread Pudding. Throughout the class, you'll learn techniques for building bold Cajun and Creole flavors, creating restaurant-quality seafood dishes, and preparing a memorable meal—all while coming together to make a meaningful impact through this fundraising event. Recipes will be provided. Tickets are priced per person.

*All class ticket sales are final. No refunds or credit transfers to other classes are available. If you purchased a ticket and are unable to attend, please contact us to check our waitlist.*
