with Chef Maudie Schmitt of Cafe Rue Orleans
Extra, Extra! Chef Maudie is going to teach a legendary Louisiana classic: Shrimp Étouffée in the HKS Kitchen! Start class off with a cured meat and cheese platter, seasoned up Cajun style, to wet your whistle at the beginning of class. Next, guests will sauté zucchini, squash and tomatoes with corn to make Creole succotash. This recipe will serve as a hearty dish along the main event you get to make from scratch: shrimp étouffée, made the Maudie way! Chef Maudie will bring white chocolate bread pudding for dessert (a secret recipe). Find out how she creates these delicious dishes that have been warming the bellies of her restaurant patrons for years. Chef Maudie will also be discussing Cajun ingredients and seasonings so you can recreate these authentic dishes in your very own kitchen. Tickets are priced per person. Recipes will be provided (except for the bread pudding).
*All class ticket sales are final. No refunds or credit transfers to other classes are available.*
