Explore the bold and balanced flavors of Chinese-inspired cuisine with Chef Katie Helams in the HKS Kitchen. For an evening that delivers a mix of spicy, savory, and refreshing dishes, you’ll begin with an appetizer of vibrant Sichuan Spicy Chicken served over rice noodles. Then, you’ll learn how to prepare crispy General Tso's Chicken, from crafting the flavorful marinade to perfecting the signature sweet-and-savory sauce. To round out the meal, you'll make two sides, a tender Red-Cooked Butternut Squash and a fresh Kashgar-inspired Salad that adds bright herbs, crisp vegetables, and complementary flavors to the plate. Throughout the evening, you'll build confidence in cooking Chinese cuisine, learning essential techniques, sauces, and seasoning methods that bring depth and balance to every bite. Recipes will be provided. Tickets are priced per person.

MEET THE CHEF:

Katie Helams, owner of Grow NWA, is a UK native who has over 20 years’ experience in the culinary field. After completing her training in the UK she came to Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri, as a culinary intern. After that, she worked in the UK and Asia to further her culinary knowledge. Since moving to NWA with her family she has turned her hand to indoor farming. She currently owns and operates a small microgreens farm in Bentonville and gets immense joy in sharing them with others. This allows her to stay connected to her culinary roots.
