Cooking for a Cause: At Honeycomb Kitchen Shop, we believe food has the power to bring people together—and to make a real difference. That’s why we’re proud to offer special cooking classes throughout the year in support of our friends and neighbors where 20% of all ticket sales plus 20% of all in-store and online retail sales on the day of the class will be donated to a local charity or organization doing remarkable things and making a meaningful impact right here in our community. This class will benefit Big Paws of the Ozarks, a foster-based nonprofit rescuing dogs in crisis and providing professional training across Northwest Arkansas. When you adopt from Big Paws, you're not just gaining a pet – you're changing a life.
About the Class: Celebrate National Dog Day with Chef Miranda in the HKS Kitchen. This tail-waggingly fun cooking class uses healthy people- and pup-friendly ingredients to make homemade goodies to treat your furry best friends! This class will kick off with a savory appetizer of Cheddar and Chive Scones served with Bacon Jam for the hoomans. Then, in tribute to your canine companions, you’ll switch gears and learn to whip up several pup-friendly treats – Dr. Barkopolis’s Famous Parsley-Bacon Biscuits, Lloyd’s Unfurgettably De-leash-ous Brownies, and Grizz’s Oat-rageously Pawsome No-Bake Treats. This class is paws-itively perfect for foodies who love to treat their four-legged fur babies all year round. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the HKS kitchen, but we’ll be sending you home with doggie bags of your treats. Recipes will be provided. Tickets are priced per person.
*All class ticket sales are final. No refunds or credit transfers to other classes are available. If you purchased a ticket and are unable to attend, please contact us to check our waitlist.*
MEET THE CHEF
Miranda Kohout graduated from the French Pastry School in Chicago in 2005. Her pastry career began at NoMI, a Michelin-star restaurant in Park Hyatt’s flagship property on Michigan Avenue. It continued at Goddess & Grocer, Hoosier Mama Pie Company, and The Bristol. In 2015, she, her husband, and their dog Doc relocated to Northwest Arkansas. Her introduction to the NWA culinary scene was at The Farmer’s Table in Fayetteville, where their passion for local products and support of area farmers shaped her perspective on food and cooking in her new home. If you’re a fan of beloved local spots, there’s a good chance you’ve been introduced to her pastries and baked goods. Miranda has created desserts for Pressroom, The Hive, and baked pies at Wright’s BBQ. Currently, she consults on the dessert menu at Conifer in Bentonville.
