Join us in the HKS Kitchen along with sugar cookie extraordinaire Ellen Lewis to learn how to decorate a darling set of six brightly colored nature-themed cookies just in time for spring. With Ellen’s step-by-step instruction, you’ll learn several royal icing techniques to help you decorate the adorable cookies in this “Cute Little Critters” set – a dragonfly, butterfly, caterpillar, bug, flower, and mushroom. In addition to creating iced cookie masterpieces in class, you’ll be able to put your newfound decorating skills to use making decorated treats perfect for gifting or enjoying throughout the season. Limited seats are available in this class so make sure to grab your ticket! Small bites will be served for you to enjoy throughout class. And you’ll be able to take your leftover icing home to have even more decorating fun! A royal icing recipe will be provided. Tickets are priced per person. Minors 12+ may attend with a ticketed adult.

MEET THE BAKER:
Ellen Lewis is the cookie baker behind How Sweet is Homemade, which was born out of her love for all things homemade and her desire to provide simple goodness for others to enjoy. She has always loved baking and is a self-taught cookie decorator. Ellen was first introduced to rolled sugar cookies in the seventh grade, and they have been her favorite sweet treat to bake ever since. While she has been making sugar cookies for years, it was just a few years ago that she began to decorate with royal icing. As Ellen honed her skills, she began her business and began teaching classes. Her days are spent rolling dough and making custom sweet goodness while her afternoons and evenings are spent being a mom to her three kids and wife to her husband, Brad.
