Come join Chef Maudie Schmitt in the HKS kitchen as she teaches you how to jazz up a delicious feast with some of her favorite Cajun Fixin's! Relish an appetizer of Maudie's shrimp & eggplant dressing as you arrive to class. In the hands on portion, Chef Maudie will instruct you step-by-step how to make several classic Cajun side dishes that will add a great pop of flavor to your table. Participants will create Cajun oyster stuffing, Creole dirty rice, and jalapeño corn puddin' with instruction from Chef Maudie. She will also be discussing Cajun ingredients and seasonings so you can recreate these authentic NOLA dishes in your very own kitchens. Tickets are priced per person. Recipes will be provided.

MEET THE CHEF:
Born and raised in New Orleans, Chef Maudie Schmitt has an extensive restaurant heritage and learned to cook from the many great chefs in her own lively family. She taught special education for 23 years until deciding to open a restaurant. Cafe Rue Orleans opened in 2001, and has been blessed with much success in the NWA area. Chef Maudie recently competed on Food Network's Supermarket Stakeout where she was a runner up!
