Join Chef Seth Barber for his first class in the HKS kitchen, cooking up delightful dishes that promise a blend of vibrant Chilean spices and seasonal autumn ingredients! You’ll kick off with a refreshing appetizer featuring cilantro lime hummus and roasted red pepper crema, served with a colorful array of fresh vegetables for dipping. Next, Chef Seth with guide you through making a hearty calabaza candied bacon salad, a delicious fusion of sweet and savory flavors, all dressed with a maple Dijon vinaigrette that perfectly complements the dish and the flavors of fall. To round out your culinary experience, you’ll create a delectable homemade pumpkin butter to pair with tomatillo jam made by Chef Seth, served on slices of freshly baked sourdough bread. This class is a fantastic opportunity to explore exciting flavor combinations and elevate your cooking skills with unique, international and seasonal dishes. Recipes will be included. MEET THE CHEF:
Seth Barber has spent eight years cultivating a unique culinary perspective that blends formal education with hands-on experience in the agricultural, food, and restaurant industries. Seth draws deep inspiration from the rich traditions of both the North and Latin Americas, which have shaped his cooking and strengthened his connections with local communities. With an Associate Degree in Food Studies focused on Culinary Arts from Brightwater, and additional degrees in Agriculture, Food & Life Sciences, and Liberal Arts & Sciences, Seth’s classes not only teach cooking techniques but also foster a deep appreciation for local agriculture and community. Outside the kitchen, he is a devoted husband, weaving his love for food and connection into every aspect of his life.
